Meeting European parents for the 1st time: Do I hug them? Kiss them? Shake their hand?

I dated a girl from Spain for a little while. When I met her parents, I decided to extend my hand and her Dad shook it, but I was pulled in to a hug. That's my experience. I hope this helped.
