Should I text him? "first guy ive every really liked"?

Ok so this guy I met the other day gave me his number I met him at this shop n we started talking then he said we should hang some time is that asking some1 out im really clueless with this kind of stuff ive only really had guy friends so neva been able to talk bout this kinda stuff so I text him and he text back a bit and I thought I should end the convo so I said I had to go should I wait for him to text me or what should I do??
