How does Mark Twain represent the greatest American writer between 1800-1900?

He was a humorist who wrote about life on the Mississippi River. His genre was19th century realism. He also wrote political satire. He wrote honestly about the country, and its culture. Twain wrote how the people talked (their vernacular). His more well-known stories dealt with frontier humor. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is considered by many to be the best Novel written by an American.
